Following on from our event for Nepal last November, and the earthquakes which hit Nepal earlier this year, we are supporting our friends again with SANGAI RUNU, a simple night of music and more: Friday, 30th October. Early bird tickets are now on sale.
Adil Iqbal‘s brilliant Twilling Tweeds exhibition is happening for a whole month at The Nomads’ Tent (St Leonard’s Lane). It’s free and records the innovative project connecting the weavers of the Outer Hebrides, Scotland with the female embroiderers of Chitral, NWFP, Pakistan.
It comprises “a series of contemporary hand-loomed embroidered textiles will interpret Scottish and Chitrali stories through illustrated narratives.”
The embroidered work is stunning and the stories captivating.
It’s a thrill to have Adil connect with VOXedinburgh.
